Commander background
Deck description
Death Toll is a Golgari Commander deck led by Winter, Cynical Opportunist, blending deathtouch combat with self-mill to turn the graveyard into a second hand. Winter’s attack trigger stocks the yard, and delirium rewards careful card-type variety by exiling a mixed pile to cheat a permanent onto the battlefield, even if it arrives with a finality counter. That engine naturally feeds recursion like Reanimate and value loops with Deadbridge Chant, while big bodies such as Hornet Queen, Noxious Gearhulk, and Giant Adephage quickly swing board presence in your favor. Games tend to develop at a steady, grindy pace: early ramp and mill set up midgame threats, then a stream of reanimated permanents pressures life totals and overwhelms blockers. Interaction is solid and flexible with Putrefy, Binding the Old Gods, and Culling Ritual, plus incidental hate from Scavenging Ooze and Bojuka Bog. Players who enjoy resilient attrition and incremental advantage can upgrade smoothly by adding more delirium enablers, premium self-mill, or additional graveyard payoffs.
